Terms of Service

vidr · Last updated: July 6, 2026

These Terms of Service ("Terms") are a contract between you and vidr — a service operated by an individual sole proprietor ("vidr", "we", "us") — governing your use of the vidr website and apps at vidr.video (the "Service"). By accessing or using the Service, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. The Service

vidr is a browser-based video editor with an AI-storyboard workspace. A free tier is available (exports may carry a watermark); paid "Pro" plans remove limits. We may add, change, or discontinue features at any time.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 13 years old (or the minimum digital-consent age in your country, e.g. 16 in parts of the EU) to use the Service. If you are under the age of majority where you live, you may use the Service only with the involvement of a parent or guardian.

3. Your account

4. Acceptable use

You agree that you will not:

We may remove content or suspend accounts that we reasonably believe violate these Terms.

5. Your content

You keep ownership of the media you upload and the projects you create. To operate the Service for you, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, worldwide license to host, store, process, transcode, and display your content solely to provide, maintain, and improve the Service and your access to your work across sessions and devices. This license ends when you delete the content or your account, except for content already shared by you or retained as required by law or reasonable backups.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to your content and to grant this license, and you are solely responsible for your content and for backing up anything important to you.

6. AI generation (bring-your-own key)

vidr can connect to third-party AI generation providers using an API key you supply. Those providers' terms and pricing apply to that usage, your key is sent directly to the provider to fulfill your request and is not stored on our servers, and you are responsible for your prompts, your generated outputs, and your rights to use them. AI outputs are provided "as is" and may be inaccurate or unsuitable — review them before use.

7. Subscriptions and payments

8. Data, analytics, and cookies

We collect account information, your projects/media, and product-usage information, and we use analytics and cookies only to operate the Service and to understand and improve it — never to sell your personal data or use it to target advertising. A strictly-necessary, HTTP-only cookie keeps you signed in; optional product analytics run only with your consent. What we collect, why, the third parties involved, and your choices are described in our Privacy Policy, which is part of these Terms. By using the Service you consent to that collection and use.

9. Intellectual property

The Service, including its software, design, and the "vidr" name and logo, is owned by vidr and protected by intellectual-property laws. We grant you a limited, personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the Service under these Terms. These Terms grant you no rights in the Service's software or brand beyond that.

10. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties — including Google (sign-in), Stripe (payments), your AI generation provider, PostHog (analytics), and Cloudflare (hosting/storage). Your use of those services is subject to their terms, and we are not responsible for them.

11. Disclaimers

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and any warranty that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. You use the Service at your own risk, and you are responsible for maintaining your own copies of your work — we are not liable for lost or corrupted content.

12. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, vidr and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, revenue, data, or goodwill, arising from or related to your use of the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service will not exceed the greater of the amount you paid us for the Service in the 12 months before the claim, or US$100. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

13. Indemnification

You agree to indemnify and hold harmless vidr and its operators from claims, damages, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of your content, your use of the Service, or your violation of these Terms or of any law or third-party right.

14. Termination

You may stop using the Service at any time. We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the Service or other users. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (including content license grants already made, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and indemnification) will survive.

15. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. If we make material changes we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example, by updating the date above or via an in-app notice). Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.

16. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, USA, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, and any disputes will be resolved in the courts located there, except where applicable law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
