Privacy Policy
vidr ("we", "us") is a browser-based tool for editing and organizing AI-generated video. This policy explains what we collect, why, and your choices. By signing in you agree to it.
What we collect
- Account info from Google. When you sign in with Google we receive your email address, name, and profile picture. We use this only to identify your account.
- Profile details you provide (e.g. role, intended use) during setup.
- Your projects and media. Project structure and any media you upload or save are stored so you can access your work across sessions and devices.
- Usage events. Basic product activity (e.g. signed in, completed setup, saved a project, exported) to understand and improve the product.
- Analytics (PostHog), only if you consent via the in-app banner.
- Payment information, if you buy a paid plan. Payments are processed by Stripe; we receive your plan, subscription status, and a Stripe customer reference — we never receive or store your full card details.
How we use it
We use your data only to operate and improve vidr — to sign you in, store and sync your work, process payments, keep the service secure, and understand how the product is used so we can make it better. We do not sell your personal data, and we do not use it to target advertising or build advertising profiles about you. (vidr may show non-tracking ads to keep the free tier sustainable; those do not use your personal data.)
What we do NOT do
- We do not sell your personal data.
- Your AI-generator API keys (if you use BYO generation) are sent directly to that provider and are never stored on our servers.
- Exported video/images are produced in your browser; we don't need them to export.
Where it's stored
Account data, profiles, projects, and media are stored on Cloudflare (D1 and R2). Storage keys are opaque identifiers and contain no personal data. A secure, HTTP-only session cookie keeps you signed in; we use no third-party advertising cookies.
Third parties
- Google — sign-in (OAuth).
- Cloudflare — hosting and storage.
- Stripe — payment processing for paid plans.
- PostHog — product analytics, only with your consent.
- Your AI generation provider — when you use bring-your-own-key generation, your request and key are sent directly to that provider (not stored by us).
Your choices
- You can decline analytics in the consent banner.
- You can sign out at any time (File ▸ Sign out).
